As a first time mum it’s a bit nerve racking not knowing what you are going to need or may not need for your newborn, I was introduced to the burp cloths from Your Cheeky Monkey which I find are wonderful, they are just the right size and the best thing is that they don’t take up much room in the nappy bag, as we all know we pretty much have everything but the kitchen sink in our bags. The burp cloths are a great size that goes over your shoulder this way when your burping your baby you can still be fascinated by your newborn without having to worry about a big towel smothering their face as they like to snuggle onto your shoulder. The burp cloths I also found are great in the cot where your baby’s face lies this way if he/she is sick a little bit it goes on the burp cloth and not on the sheet. I found that they are a lot more presentable looking then a towel when I’m out shopping and they wash and wear very well, the fabric that is used is also gentle on the baby’s face. As I use them on a daily basis I would highly recommend the burp cloths to anyone even if it’s a gift for someone else.

I was recently given a Your Cheeky Monkey crochet flannelette wrap and a baby beanie for my newborn daughter. I was so thrilled to receive something that was hand crafted. Everyone notices and comments on them. The reversible baby beanie comes in handy when we go for an early morning walk. She looks so cute in it and it protects her head from losing too much body heat. There are no scratchy tags for me to unpick and then re-sew together, so I can use both sides of the beanie. It is things like this that show a lot of thought and effort has been put into these items. The flannelette is soft, cosy and has a beautiful edge on it. Very much like something my Gran would have made for me had she still been alive.

Having tried out the Your Cheeky Monkey burps cloths with my newborn, I am absolutely rapt in them. They are a convenient size and the shape fits perfectly over your shoulder. They also don’t take up much room in your nappy bag. Made in great colours & funky designs, you'll want to show these off in public! I have one in almost every place that I feed my baby - nappy bag, lounge room, bedroom, and spares. I also use one in her bassinette and pram for catching any spit ups/dribbles when she's asleep. The flannelette side is soft on baby's skin and the towelling is great for any bigger mop ups. The cloths also wash and wear very well. I would recommend these handmade burp cloths to any mother and they would be especially great to give as a gift.
